  • How did you know God loves you this week? Well, I have endured the hardships Im already experiencing here. I still have the motivation and I am comforted for you.
  • Do you have a golden investigator currently? There is a Possible Golden Investigator :)
  • Who got transferred? 100% Elder Harris (AP), Elder Dodd and Elder Bayot .. Elder Cu maybe? Then Sister Jackson is going home na.

What is a missionary?

ELDER BASCO (AP): Someone who leaves their family, so that other families can be together for eternity.

ELDER HARRIS (AP) Missionaries are cool. Brave. They do good.

ELDER BAYOT: Helps other people develop Jesus-like attributes.

ELDER DODD: Modern day superheroes!

ELDER MILALLOS: There's a lot of kinds of missionaries... But here's something about being one.

Sacrfice. Love. Patience. Excitement. Adventure but there's also
Sadness. Pain. Pity. Disappointment. Worries.

A missionary gives up someting, or anything just to help others come unto Christ. It is not easy but the joy we feel when we get THANK YOUs & people going to church baptisms & families being sealed into the temple, is just like seeing a smile from Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ.

I love being a missionary.

Week 24. Office Secretary

Exchanges with Elder Cu. It was fun.
We had good transition while teaching and Elder Cu is really funny too.
He is our Zone Leader. "Your Team" is our District T Shirt.
And while we were spending the night just the three of us.
(Morning: I found out that we have cats inside the house. The mama cat left her two kittens)
I found the kittens still hiding behind the couch so we tried to catch them so they can be freed.
We chased them the whole evening and finally caught them.
Elder Dodd was kinda scratched by with black one.

Saturday -Sunday Session General Conference
This was our District wearing all blue team.
Elder Hennessey (lower-left photo) always says "Elder Milallos youre such a troll."
And he is my troll companion :)

  • Describe your new area, is it bigger than Ormoc? I think Ormoc is bigger..but theres more stuff here like places to go. Its pretty crowded. The area so far that Ive gone to is pretty small :3
  • Have you been learning their language? Theres less Ilocano here than in Santiago. Theres Indians here and black people.
  • How's your health? Still having colds and sneezes
  • What's a missionary act you did  that will make you proud to share this week? Aside from the routine. Knowledge, Im starting to enlarge more my knowledge of the Gospel so I can be a better partner to you. Having the Priesthood too is a great blessing. Well, its still Patience xD Its very constant like every day every single moment anywhere theres a test of Patience. /sigh
  • What did you learn from the General Conference Yesterday? Be grateful to everything you have. This is one of the things I have learned in the General Conference.

A letter from a grandson on a mission.

Dear Family,

When Dad first told me that Mommy Ning passed away, I couldn't take it in. I didn't know what to feel or what to react. I wanted to wake up immediately from this bad dream. I knelt and prayed to Heavenly Father and poured out my heart unto him.
When our Mission President delievered the news to me, and confirmed that it wasn't a dream. I calmly nodded as he extended his condolence.

Normally, I would firstly make corny jokes... then cry... then, breakdown. But this time, though its really sad, I was strongly comforted that I felt peace. Before, I didn't really understand the plan of salvation that God prepared for us. Now as a missionary my wisdon of it has greatly grown and undertood it.

Death is part of God's plan to have Eternal Life. I feel happy for Mommy Ning.

She's going to be fine there. She's going to have a perfect health. Gonna be with Grandpa whom I never met and she can now watch all over us, specially her grandchildren whom she loves greatly.

Mommy Ning and I never really had moments together that I could remember. Except when I was really young and sickly maybe.

We only talked through email. Even so, I love her so much. When I had trouble adjusting to my needs when I was just new o being a missionary, she was there to help me.
Tho I wasn't really able to spend time with her, I'm very happy to have her as my grandma.

If I am going to regret something, it's going to be her birthday parties that I was never in. I have always wanted to go. To be with her and my cousins. To know her more & to get closer to her. And for some reason, Im always not able to go.

Whenever I see pictures of her along with her grandchildren I get jealous. Yes, I'm supposed to be there. What's really heavy is when she told me "Be there, it might be my last birthday."

Alright enough drama, Mommy Ning wouldn't want me to be sad. I know she loves me & that she is proud of me. I pray for everyone's heart to be comforted & that all may be strong in might, mind and strength.

I know that heavenly father & Jesus Christ lives. I know that someday we will all be together again, with Mommy Ning.

In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.

Wednesday: So yea we used the bikes it was a looooooong day. Singot kaayu mi sa bikes but later on the day something unexpected happened. My bikes left pedal got loose and we tried to fix it. I had to ride with a broken loose pedal then we found a Vulcanizing shop to fix it then rode again. Later that night when we were about to go to our last family to visit E. Dougal's bike was flat ooh dang it so we had to walk it around then someone offered for help because he has a pump. Temporarily the bike got air so we rushed to the highway. While rushing from Mambug to the highway my bike's pedal was loose again and E. Dougal's bike was flat again. First day to use the bikes and they were broken. Lels :)) what a day.

Thursday: Excited kay Friday na then Weekends wohoo. Nag commute rami. Heard about the storm and got really worried sa inyo diha.

Friday: Rain! Wohoo then CSP. We cleaned kawayans to prepare for a house project sa church. Then a member called she said she needed help to clean around their house kay muvisit daw DSWD and so we went there and cleaned it up then returned to the kawayan site again and had lunch. Had a good lunch. Then work work work.

Week 5. "Patience is a great weapon and being humble is the greatest shield too."

During our email-chat he would pop some wisdom to me and I made it the title of this week's post.

Wednesday: I woke up around 2am and couldn't sleep back so I went downstairs and saw dishes on the sink so I washed them. I was thinking about you maybe something happened. I dont even know I was really worried. Then in the Morning we had a Church Service Project and build fences for a Duck Farm daarn it was really hot and we had to hike hills and walk through rice fields. Then after that we had a nice lunch then went back to our apartment. I had a shower and my nose bled  Then around 1/2pm we went straight to proselyting then wow I cant feel my legs and feet after because it was really a looooooong day. But something funny happened that day because my companion had a stomach pain while proselyting so we had to find a house that has a cr and he went straight for the cr and I took a bucket and put some water in it :)) Then on the same day too there was a rumor that there was an aswang caught in Mambug which is in our area and its pure rice fields and pure pitch darkness when night time. Loooongest day so far.

Friday: Nose bleeed again exactly 3am I woke up and the blood in my nose just swoooosh away. Not a really productive day tho because our investigators were not there when we visited them.

Saturday: Sandwich day. Because at 12:30pm we had to visit an investigator just to catch him because he was always busy and it was really hot I was so wet with my sweat and my throat was so dry. Our goal was to invite everyone to church so yea we went to Mambug, then San Esteban, then San Roque then back to Mambug.

Mambug: Rice Fields
San Esteban: Barangay
San Roque: Ocean Side
(All of them are at least 30-40minute drive lagyo kaayu ba)

Happy Sunday: Some of our investigators came! Wooo I passed the sacrament and no one came but then at the middle of the sacrament some of our investigators went inside and I felt joy when I saw them. I was so happy that they came to church. Then after that we're supposed to have a meeting with Bishop but they cancelled it so we went to visit the investigators that went to church so we could follow them up.

The CR that my companion dropped his bomb. See his hand? xD

Define GOLDEN INVESTIGATOR. The Lord has already prepared you. You are receptive and loves the Gospel. I dont really know much about it but yeah youre the dream investigator or every missionary.
What is the thing you most enjoy doing in your mission? Studying and Reading, the things Ive never done before really. Wow just wow.

A poem written by Joseph Fielding Smith to his wife Ethel

Does the Journey seem long,
The path rugged and steep?
Are there briars and thorns on the way?
Do sharp stones cut your feet
As you struggle to rise
To the heights thru the heat of the day?

Is your heart faint and sad,
Your soul weary within,
As you toil 'neath your burden of care?
Does the load forced now to lift?
Is there no one your burden to share?

Let your heart be not faint
Now the journey's begun;
There is One who still beckons to you.
So look upward in joy
And take hold of his hand;
He will lead you to heights that are new~

A land holy and pure,
Where all trouble doth end,
And your life shall be free from all sin,
Where no tears shall be shed,
For no sorrows remain.
Take his hand and with him enter in.

Joseph Fielding Smith to his wife, Ethel.
He was going to be away for a conference.
Included in his poem,
"I am thinking of you and wish I could be with you constantly
for the next few weeks, to help take care of you"
Ethel was pregnant.

I wrote this somewhere in my study journal and included
Kaeya and Kaneeka
at the last part.
You could copy and paste the poem and print it and put it somewhere in your room :)
